This course explains how refrigeration loads are estimated for refrigerated warehouses and industrial cold storage facilities.

It is intended for industrial refrigeration technicians, designers, and engineers who need to size systems, evaluate existing facilities, or understand how operational decisions affect refrigeration capacity.

Accurate load estimation matters because system performance, efficiency, redundancy, and refrigerant charge are all driven by load assumptions. Over‑estimated loads increase cost and refrigerant inventory, while under‑estimated loads compromise temperature control and reliability.

The course covers heat transmission, traffic‑driven activity, air infiltration, dock door usage, product cooling requirements, and internal heat sources, then explains how these loads are combined into a final design basis using engineering judgment.
